Sound Therapy with Acutonics® Tuning forks

Slider 1

If you prefer a non-invasive approach to healing that provides similar results to acupuncture, sound healing using tuning forks may be a good choice for you.  Tuning forks are placed on the appropriate acupoints on the body and stimulate the area through sound vibrations.  Tuning forks can also be used to complement your acupuncture treatment.  The sound waves of the forks vibrate and travel deeply into the body along energy pathways, affecting human physiology reaching places not easily accessed. Their rich resonance and vibration connects with and supports the body's natural frequencies, stimulates and balances the body's physical and subtle energy field, and promotes wellness and deep inner harmony.

The tuning forks system used at this clinic is called the Acutonics® System which is a unique, energy-based, non-invasive approach that is rooted in Chinese Medicine. Precision calibrated tuning forks are applied to specific acupuncture points to access the body's Meridian and Chakra energy systems. These tuning forks represent a natural harmonic series based on the orbital properties of the Earth, Moon, Sun and planets. This system was co-developed by Donna Carey, LAc, and has evolved over the past sixteen years through the combined efforts of Donna Carey, Ellen Franklin and many others.  For more information, go to: www.acutonics.com

What are the benefits of Sound therapy using tuning forks?
The health benefits of sound therapy and its applications are similar to those of acupuncture.  In addition, since it is non-invasive, sound therapy is a good option for those who cannot tolerate needles or for those where needling is contraindicated.  The vibration of the tuning forks can also be used to complement your acupuncture treatment, once the needles are set in place, resulting in a combined or synergistic healing effect.

Who can benefit from Sound Therapy?

  • Individuals who do not like needles
  • Children who will not lie still for acupuncture
  • Individuals who are too weak or sensitive to needles
  • Individuals who have a blood condition or other conditions where needling is contraindicated

What conditions can sound therapy be used for?
Sound healing can be useful for many conditions. Dr.Vidas has had success using this method for relaxation & stress release, for pain or tension conditions (e.g., frozen shoulder, shoulder pain, elbow pain, knee pain, headaches, PMS, menstrual pain) and for body balancing.
